Last Week Recap
Men's Basketball opened their season in the Crossroads/WHAC Challenge and came away with two tough losses. Spring Arbor got the best of the Golden Eagles 74-64 to open the season as the shooting woes haunted men's basketball as they shot just 35% and 9% from three as Eli Steffen led the way with 19 points. Cornerstone then had Indiana Wesleyan on the ropes on their home court in the final 10-minutes of play, but the Wildcats found their shooting stroke as their late comeback sees the Golden Eagles fall 78-72. Luke Rowlinson led the way with 24 points.

To begin the season, men's basketball is 5-37 from behind the arc for a percentage of 13.5%. Luke Rowlinson has three of the five made threes with Andy Mora and Connor Dykema having one each.

Scouting Grace
Grace comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles as the number eight ranked team in the nation coming off a 1-1 week. It's a different looking Lancer team this year as they lost three key starters including NAIA Player of the Year Elijah Malone to an NCAA Division One school, Colorado. Grace opened the year with a 92-85 victory over UNOH before falling to Rio Grande 69-65 to open their season. With losing three players to D1 schools, the Lancers continue to be tall task on the defensive end as through two games, they have four players averaging double-figures with Sophomore Ian Raasch leading the way at 15 points with Ian Scott behind him at 14.5 points and 10 rebounds per-game.

Scouting Olivet Nazarene
Olivet Nazarene finished the 2023-24 season with an overall record of 22-9 losing in the first round of the NAIA National Tournament. This year, the Tigers have a different offensive outlook as they lost NAIA All-American Tyler Schmidt to a NCAA Division One school for his grad-transfer year. They also last three other seniors from the 2023-24 season that averaged 10+ points. Look for guard Caleb Swearingen to lead the way this year for Olivet Nazarene as they open their season against Indiana Wesleyan on Tuesday, November 5.
