Sal Headlines Women's Soccer WHAC Honors

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich – The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced the Women's Soccer awards for the 2025 season and four Golden Eagles earned an award. Kaitlynn Sal highlighted the honors for the Golden Eagles with a First Team All-Conference selection for defenders. Gracie Gortmaker earned Second Team All-Conference for forwards, Corinne McGlassion earned a spot on the All-Newcomer team as a goalkeeper and Cate Anhalt rounded out the awards winning the Champion of Character. 


Kaitlynn Sal – First Team All-Conference
Senior Kaitlynn Sal earned her first, First Team All-Conference honors playing a massive role in the Golden Eagles back line. Sal was as consistent as they come starting in all 18 games along with playing all 90 minutes in 17 out of the 18 games. Aside from her stellar defense, Sal also made an impact on the offensive side of the ball scoring a goal and picking up one assist. 


Gracie Gortmaker – Second Team All-Conference
Junior Gracie Gortmaker is no stranger to awards season. The junior was a member of the newcomer of the year team her freshman season and earned first team honors in her sophomore campaign. Despite coming off an acl injury from last season, Gortmaker played in 16 games this season and recorded five goals and three assists to earn Second Team All-Conference Honors.
 
Corinne McGlassion – All-Newcomer Team
Freshman Corinne McGlassion earned her first all-conference honors being named to the All-Newcomer team for 2025. McGlassion started in 14 games for the Golden Eagles totaling 77 saves and a 1.61 goals against average. The freshman goalkeeper also was awarded WHAC Defensive Player of the Week honors this season.
 
Cate Anhalt – Champion of Character
Senior Cate Anhalt was selected as Cornerstone's representative to the WHAC Champions of Character team by the CU staff for best representing the five NAIA core character traits of respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
 
WHAC All-Academic
Women's Soccer saw seven athletes earn WHAC All-Academic honors for the 2025 season. This award is given to any athlete who has been on the roster for a year or more as well as a sophomore and above in academic class standing with a GPA of 3.25 or higher. The winners are Emily Ake, Cate Anhalt, Sadie Geerlings, Karsyn Hostetler, Ally Merrihew, Kaitlynn Sal and Jada VanNoord.
