GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone Women's Soccer is excited to announce the addition of 11 players to the freshman class of 2026. Coach
Sam Tracey is excited to get everyone on the campus of Cornerstone for the 2026 season.
Madelyn Teffner is the daughter of Mark and Jackie Teffner and is a midfielder coming from Lake Fenton High School where she was named First-Team All-Conference, All District Team, All Region Team and All State Honorable Mention. Teffner plans to major in nursing during her time as a Golden Eagle.
Why CU?
"I chose Cornerstone Women's Soccer because of the amazing community and how genuinely welcoming everyone is. From the start, it felt like a place where I belong and can be myself. I believe this positive, supportive environment will push me to grow, compete, and strive to become the best person I can be. The aspect of faith I hope to grow at CU is action because I don't want to just acknowledge my belief I want to also act on it and do more things to be involved!"

Sam Tracey has to say about Madelyn, "Mady's technical ability is visible the moment she steps on the field, bringing incredible savvy to take on anyone and use deception to slip past. She uses these skills to be super impactful in attacking sequences, inviting pressure and playing into open teammates for easy looks. Beyond that, she fits right into our team culture by bringing positivity and a growth mindset - we can't wait to have her on campus this fall."
Maddie Mater is the daughter of Aaron and Katherine Mater and is a center midfielder coming from Fremont High School where she was named First-Team All-Conference, All District Team, All Region Team and All State Honorable Mention along with being a 2023 State Cup Champion and earning Magna Cum Laude Honors. Mater plans to major in exercise science during her time as a Golden Eagle.

"I chose Cornerstone because of the Christ centered atmosphere and the supportive team culture. I wanted a school that put Christ first in academics and athletics, and I felt that as soon as I stepped foot on campus. The students, staff, players, and coaches made me feel welcome and at home! I hope to grow in every aspect of my faith at CU and be pushed to be a better disciple of Jesus every day!"

Sam Tracey has to say about Maddie, "Mater came to us late in the fall for the very first time, but made an instant impression with the way she carries herself on and off the field. She brings energy and radiates positivity in everything she does, which will propel our team forward even as a freshman. On the field, this translates to a tireless work rate, ownership of the midfield, and high soccer IQ - all things we are so excited to add when Mater gets to campus this fall!"
Nia Guess is the daughter of Norman and Angel Guess and is a forward coming from Regina High School where she was on the varsity team all four years along with being on the honor roll all for years. Guess plans to major in business and administration during her time as a Golden Eagle.

Sam Tracey has to say about Nia, "Nia is an incredibly dynamic player, covering tons of ground up and down the pitch. Her technicality makes her slippery to defend and her pace in behind makes her an immediate threat to create quality chances. Throughout our time getting to know Nia, she has shown she is incredibly coachable, genuine, and cares so much about her team, which made her an immediate fit into our program. We couldn't be more excited for Nia to join us this fall."
Addison Pell is the daughter of Scott and Jenn Pell and is coming from Unity Christian High School where she received First-Team All-Conference, All District Team, All Region Team and All State recognition along with being on the honor roll. Pell plans to major in education during her time as a Golden Eagle.

"I chose Cornerstone University because it is a Christ-centered community that encourages growth on and off the field. I'm excited to continue playing soccer, pursue education, and deepen my faith surrounded by people who point me to Jesus. I'm so grateful for this team and for God's guidance every step of the way. I hope to grow in having a deeper and more personal relationship with God. I want my faith to become something that is truly my own not just something I have grown up with, but something I pursue each day through prayer, time in the word, and trusting him in all areas of my life. I am excited to grow in Christian community; being surrounded by people who will challenge me, support me, and help me stay rooted in my faith. It's my prayer that my faith becomes stronger, more intentional, and evident in everything I do."

Sam Tracey has to say about Addison, "Addi joins us after playing championship level soccer at Unity Christian, a local powerhouse, where she has been integral to their success in earning multiple state championships. She is an incredible ball winner aerially and sees the field with excellent vision to dictate play and set tempo for her team. Addi has shown she is incredibly team-focused and knows what it takes to compete long into playoff runs, which makes her an incredible asset for our team."
Adelynn Stampfler is the daughter of Jason and Christy Stampfler and is a midfielder coming from Delton Kellogg High School where she was varsity basketball captain, a National Honors Society Member and spent 12 years with TKO Soccer. Stampfler plans to major in nursing during her time as a Golden Eagle.

I truly believe God opened this door for me, and I cannot wait to see what the next four years hold."

Sam Tracey has to say about Adelynn, "Addie is an incredibly technical player with a high soccer IQ, giving her the ability to play a number of roles within a team. Addie plays with a speed and tempo that match the college game already. Addie is also both individually driven and a genuine, kind teammate, which will add to our culture really well this fall!"
Ella Meyering is the daughter of Travis and Kristine Meyering and is a center midfielder/back coming from Jenison High School where she earned All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2024 and All-Conference and All-District in 2025. Meyering plans to major in nursing during her time as a Golden Eagle.

" I chose Cornerstone because it is where I felt God was leading me. It is the place I felt I would strengthen my faith the most. I also felt most included and comfortable with the Cornerstone soccer team. I want to grow in my faith in confidence and knowledge. I also want to become part of a larger Christian community that pushes others to grow. I also hope to be able to put more of my beliefs into action."

Sam Tracey has to say about Ella, "Ella is a force to be reckoned with on the soccer field. Great at winning balls in the air, she defends with a physicality that shows she is already prepared for WHAC play. Ella also has an elite ball striking ability and a high degree of technicality that makes her capable of playing in multiple roles for us. She is a true baller, a player that loves the game and eats up coaching, which makes her a perfect fit in our program."
Sydney Elders is the daughter of Scott Elders and Lisa Howland and is a defender coming from Hudsonville High School where she made the varsity soccer team in 2025 and 2026 while holding a 4.068 gpa. Elders plans to major in pre-occupational therapy during her time as a Golden Eagle.

" I chose Cornerstone because of the environment. The soccer program welcomed me with open arms. I also chose Cornerstone because of its campus and having the opportunity to connect with my professors. Cornerstone was also my top option because of how close to home; I can easily visit my family. At Cornerstone, I would like to grow most in depth and consistency with my faith through daily prayer and chapel. I want to strengthen my relationship and put my full trust in God's plan over what I have planned. At Cornerstone, I hope to find myself digging deeper into each bible study/chapel and being able to understand the word of the Lord better."

Sam Tracey has to say about Sydney, " Sydney has an incredible engine, covering ground up and down the pitch with relentless energy. She defends with a high level of technicality and physicality, locking down her side of the pitch and taking her attacker completely out of the game. Beyond this, Sydney shares a passion and joy for the game of soccer with our team, which makes her a great fit for our program, and we are so excited to have her join us!"
Sammi Beller is the daughter of Jaime and Robbie Beller and is a forward coming from Davison High School where she was named All League SVL for soccer 2 times, Voted MVP offensive player by my DHS soccer team 2 times, First Team All-District for soccer 2 times, All Region First Team for soccer, All State Honorable Mention for soccer, 1st Team All-League for basketball, 2nd Team All-league for basketball All Academic First Team 2 years for both soccer and basketball, High Honor Roll 3 years. Beller plans to major in business during her time as a Golden Eagle.

" I chose Cornerstone because of the Christ centered atmosphere and the feeling that I felt while on the campus. The women's soccer team was like a family, and I wanted to be a part of it. I hope to grow in a deeper relationship with Christ and be an example on and off the field."

Sam Tracey has to say about Sammi, "Sammi comes to us off a super successful club season, where she led her team to a state cup victory. She is a natural goalscorer, with instincts in the box that make her a true threat. She also defends from the front with grit and energy, causing chaos and turnovers that make her a true Cornerstone Women's Soccer player. We are thrilled to add her hardworking, positive energy to our program this fall!"
Madeleine Paulson is the daughter of Matthew and Sarah Paulson and is a goalkeeper coming from Hudsonville High School where she was earned numerous different honors such as, Chris Rapson Award, "Feed the Bear" Paul Clapson Award, ODP Girls Soccer Midwest State Player - 2024 & 2025, Tiger Goalkeeping Camper of the Week, and National Honor Society Member - 2 years. Paulson plans to major in pre-med during her time as a Golden Eagle.

" I chose Cornerstone because of its welcoming, Christ centered community. Everything about Cornerstone was kind and friendly and everything I wanted for my college experience. It has everything I need to help me achieve my academic and athletic goals for the future. I hope to grow in making my faith more personal and consistent in my daily life. I want to deepen my relationship with God and learn how to apply my faith more intentionally in my decisions, relationships, and future career."

Sam Tracey has to say about Maddie, "Maddie Paulson has a super solid technical base as a goalkeeper, finding herself on the training ground constantly working on her craft. Her handling, footwork, and shot stopping set her apart from the rest, making her a real asset to our team. Right away it was clear that Maddie is someone her teammates love to laugh with and she balances that well with her drive to be the very best she can be - we couldn't be more thrilled she chose to join us this fall!"
Kate Madak is the daughter of Jeff and Erin Madak and is coming from Chippewa Valley High School where she was named captain of the varsity soccer team as well as the club team while earning Summa Cum Laude Honors. Madak plans to major in nursing during her time as a Golden Eagle.

" When I first started looking at colleges there were two things that were very important to me- I want to contribute to a quality soccer program and be in a Christ centered environment to grow in my faith. I had a few colleges in mind, but when I met the Cornerstone team it was clear that they had both things I was looking for. In my college experience I want to be around a close group of people who can encourage me to walk closely with Christ and that is what I found on the Cornerstone women's soccer team. When I first visited, the team was so welcoming and Sam was literally the nicest coach I have ever met. I knew right then this is where I wanted to be for the next 4 years!"

Sam Tracey has to say about Kate, "Kate is a really strong competitor, with her ball-winning ability, read on balls in the air, and two-footed playing style. She impacts the team on both sides of the ball, playing with poise, dictating play and tempo when she receives the ball and anticipating play to deny entry for opponents really well. She is a true culture fit for our program, doing all the unseen and difficult work to benefit the team, coming to training with joy and positive energy, and showing a relationship focus - we couldn't be more excited for her to join us this fall!"
Camryn Bladzik is the daughter of Matt and Nicole Bladzik and is a center midfielder coming from Milford High School where she was named a captain her junior and senior year and has been on the honor roll all four years. Bladzik plans to major in exercise science during her time as a Golden Eagle.

" I chose cornerstone women soccer because I knew it would be a place where I'd be supported both on and off the field. From the start, the team culture stood out to me, the genuine love and care the players and coaches have for one another is something special. I love being surrounded by people who truly believe in each other and trust that God will guide us along the way. At CU, I hope to grow my faith by gaining a closer connection to God through scripture and prayer. I also hope to grow my Faith by being surrounded by others who have the same beliefs as me and drive to also get more connected to God in a Christ- centered community."

Her ability to strike the ball well with both feet and her physicality when defending set, her apart.
