Lansing, Mich. – Men's Basketball (3-6) closed out the weekend with an 79-74 loss at Cleary on Saturday, December 6th.
Blake Stewart led Cornerstone with 22 points while
Levi Schultz grabbed nine boards which led the Golden Eagles. Cornerstone shot 45.9% from the field but weren't connecting on the deep ball shooting only 23.8% from beyond the arc. Men's Basketball continues their road trip as they face Rochester Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13th.

First Half
- The Golden Eagles started off strong taking an 11-4 lead with three pointers from Kayden Bird, Blake Stewart and Levi Schultz.
- A pair of free throws and a layup from Mark DeVries put Cornerstone up 21-16 midway through the first half.
- Blake Stewart got a mid-range shot to fall which was followed by Kayden Bird sinking a three to grow the Golden Eagles lead to 30-25.
- Layups from Andy Mora and Kayden Bird made it a 36-25 lead in favor of Cornerstone.
- Mark DeVries sunk two more free throws to send the game to halftime with the Golden Eagles holding a 40-33 lead.
Second Half
- Joel Nichols got the second half started with a layup to give Cornerstone a nine-point lead.
- After the Cougars got within five, Kayden Bird knocked down a three with Joel Nichols finishing another layup to put Cornerstone up by ten.
- Cleary fought their way back getting within three points of the Golden Eagles, Myles Steffen made two free throws to make it a two-possession game.
- The Cougars took the lead midway through the second as a three-pointer put them up 59-56.
- The Golden Eagles kept the game within three as Joel Nichols sunk two free throws which made it a 70-67 game in favor of the Cougars.
- Blake Stewart tied the game at 71 as he got a layup to fall with 3:19 remaining.
- Cornerstone's comeback effort fell short as they fell to Cleary 79-74.
