Two All-Americans highlight the first day of the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championship

MARION, Ind. - Track and Field saw seven events take place on a windy and rainy first day of the NAIA Outdoor National Championship hosted by Indiana Wesleyan. The men's hammer throw kicked off the Championship and it saw Ryan Shinabery and Stuart Stovall earn All-American honors thanks to their impressive throws. Three other events saw themselves qualify for the final event later this week in the men's 400m hurdles and the men's and women's 4x800m relay team. 

Tomorrow the Golden Eagles will be competing in six events tomorrow (men's 110m hurdles, women's 4x800m relay final, men's 4x800m relay final, women's 5,000m, women's 4x400m relay, and men's discus) with men's 110m hurdles kicking it off at 2:15 p.m.

Women's 400m Hurdles
Katelynn Dix - 1:02.62

Men's 400m Hurdles 
Patrick Adams - 52.43 - advances to Friday's final

Women's 4x800m Relay
Jacie Remtema, Payton Hosley, Emma Steele, Ronnie McMillan - 9:20.38 - advances to tomorrow's final

Men's 4x800m Relay
Peyton Tipton, Parker Matheny, Chase Holwerda, Spencer VanderZwaag - 7:39.42 - advances to tomorrow's final

Men's Javelin
Hunter Laven - 50.97m

Men's Hammer Throw
Ryan Shinabery - 59.88m - 6th Place All-American
Stuart Stovall - 58.82m - 8th Place All-American

Women's Hammer Throw
Claire Meacham - 50.90m
