Huntington, Ind. – The offense for Men's soccer worked hard but was unable to see the ball into the net after two goals from Huntington University gave the Foresters a strong lead in the first half of play. A couple of opportunities arose for Cornerstone in the second half but none saw the back of the net. The Golden Eagles would see the game out to a 2-0 loss, holding the Foresters back for the entirety of the second half. The Golden Eagles will continue their on-the-road matchups this week as they travel to Joliet, Ill. to take on the University of St. Francis Fighting Saints. They will battle it out against the Fighting Saints inside the Joliet Memorial Stadium on September 13th at 4:30 p.m. EST.

The first 5 minutes of the game were highlighted by a shot on goal from Cornerstone's Ethan Hehl, which forced a save from the Foresters' goalkeeper.

The Golden Eagles were under a lot of pressure defensively for the next 15 minutes, which saw an attempt from Huntington's Kovan Drenth find the back of the net to put the Foresters up 1-0 in the 22nd minute of play.

Both Seth Vigil and Stephen Stidham had their own respective attempts on goal denied by the Foresters' goalkeeper to keep the score 2-0 Huntington.

The 6th shot for Cornerstone kept the pressure on Huntington late in the second half, as senior forward Tyler Corstange's shot saw itself into the goalkeeper's hands.

An 89th minute cornerkick taken by Noah Dressler looked to give Cornerstone one last chance late in the match, but the Foresters were able to clear the ball to end the match.
