Rochester Hills, Mich. – Women's Volleyball jumped back into the win collum today with yet another sweep coming from WHAC conference play. The battle against Rochester Christian looked dominant to start after a smooth first set for the Golden Eagles, but Cornerstone had to fight to earn the final two sets. The ladies will continue play back home on Friday, September 19
th against Indiana Tech at 7:00 p.m.
Game Recap – #RV Cornerstone – 3 Rochester Christian – 0 (25-13, 27-25, 25-22)
First Set: Cornerstone – 25 Rochester Christian – 13
- The Golden got started quickly through Aubrey Johnson who collected multiple kills in the first few points for Cornerstone.
- Lydia Uganski found her groove as well taking some strong swings and highlighted Cornerstone's seven point run as they led 22-12.
- The strong first set was closed out by Aubrey Johnson as Cornerstone cruised past Rochester 25-13 to kick off the match.
Second Set: Cornerstone – 27 Rochester Christian – 25
- Rochester Christian was able to find a much better start in the second set as they jumped out to a 10-5 advantage looking to even up the match.
- Cornerstone had a different plan as they stormed back to make the match even at 10-10 thanks to a string of serves from Aubrey Johnson.
- Josilyn Potter found a pair of kills for the Golden Eagles near the halfway mark as each team looked to find a grip in the set.
- The monster performance continued from Aubrey Johnson with a kill to close out another set this time at 27-25 as Cornerstone held a demanding 2-0 match lead.
Third Set: Cornerstone – 25 Rochester Christian – 22
- The third set felt like the same story as each team battled back and forth searching for a grip in the match.
- The Warriors managed to squeeze their way into a 21-18 lead late in the set as they searched for a fourth set to extend the match.
- Cornerstone then went into dominant form and secured seven of the final eight points of the set to bring home yet another conference sweep.

.299 – The Golden hit at .299 to close out the strong sweep.
