Grand Rapids, Mich. – Women's Volleyball saw their way back to the Mol Arena, as they hosted the Blue Devils of Lawrence Tech. The first set saw a slow start for the Golden Eagles, as Lawrence Tech took set one strongly 25-15 over Cornerstone. The second set was a back-and-forth affair, but the Blue Devils came out on top 27-25 in the elongated set. Cornerstone were able to regroup and take the third set 25-22, and followed it up with a dominant win in the fourth set 25-14. The final set looked to be another close set, but Cornerstone were up for the challenge, as they went up 9-0 early on and took the set 15-5 and finished out the home win in five sets 3-2. The Golden Eagles will head to Lima, Ohio to take on the Racers of the University of Northwestern Ohio as they continue in conference play. The match will take place on Friday, September 25th at 7 p.m.

After battling their way back into the match, Cornerstone were on a roll in the final set, going up 9-0 with little response from their opposition.

Gwyn VerBerkmoes put another kill away, as Cornerstone remained up by nine-point 10-1.

The service ace by Gwyn Verberkmoes gave the Golden Eagles a ten-point lead 11-1.

Aubrey Johnson got a kill that put Cornerstone at match point 14-4.

One final kill by Josilyn Potter, assisted by Payton Hutchinson gave Cornerstone the hard-earned home victory in set five 15-5.

14/2 – Gwyn VerBerkmoes had her own stellar performance with 14 kills and two blocks.
13/4 – It was a strong performance from the middle blocker Gabby VerBerkmoes who put up 13 kills and four total blocks.
3/33 – Gianna Warwick tallied 33 digs and three service aces against the Blue Devils.
46 – Payton Hutchinson rounded out the Cornerstone offense with 46 assists.
