The 1998-99 Cornerstone Men's Basketball team was inducted in 2019 as the first team to hang in the CU Hall of Honor. The 1998-99 Cornerstone Men's Basketball team brought a new era of excellence to the university winning the school's first ever National Championship in any sport. Not only did the team win the National Championship, but they swept the WHAC Regular Season and WHAC Tournament Championships with a perfect 14-0 conference record and 37-3 overall record. The 1998-99 team also won 23 straight games on their way to the national title which still stands today as the longest winning streak in program history.

Coach Kim Elders summarized the 1998-99 Men's Basketball team's accomplishments by saying, "the '99 Team was special because they were the first team to ever win a national championship at Cornerstone.  This group of young men had been denied the previous year of qualifying for the national tournament despite having 24 wins and having beat the #1 team and eventual national champion Bethel College twice. This made the team driven, hunger and focused all season long.  They had one goal in mind - win it all. The '99 team was talented, unselfish, humble and represented our Lord and Cornerstone University so well.  I'm proud and honored to have coached such a great team and group of devoted Christian young men."
