Jim attended Grand Rapids Baptist College from 1983-87 and competed in basketball.  Eppink left GRBC as the leading scorer (2748) and the leading rebounder (1231) in the history of the program.  He was also the leading scorer in all of Michigan collegiate basketball.   He scored the most points (1048) in a season and tied for the most points (54) scored in a game.   He was a Second Team All-American in  1985, 1986, and 1987.
