Scouting Concordia
The Concordia Cardinals look to be improving from their 10-9-0, 5-5-0 WHAC finish in 2016, as they currently sit 6-4-0, 2-1-0 WHAC in 2017. CUAA has a high-powered offense that has already scored 27 goals this season. The team is led by junior forward Julia Palushaj who already has seven of those goals for the Cardinals. Defensively, Concordia has allowed a lot of shots on net, but junior keeper Maria Lulgjuraj has been solid with 56 saves to rank 30th in the NAIA. In previous years, Cornerstone has been dominant against Concordia, holding an all-time record of 29-2-3 against them. Although, just last season the Cardinals did get the best of the Golden Eagles in Ann Arbor, defeating them 2-0.

Scouting Indiana Tech
Indiana Tech is off to their first 3-0 start in conference play since 2012, as they sit at 6-4-0, 3-0-0 WHAC this season. IIT is another prolific offensive team, as they average 11 shots on goal per game. The duo of Tori Singstock and Shelby Lucas have combined for 11 of the teams 22 goals on the season. The Warriors split time in net as both Chloe Parker and Christina Wynn have started four or more games this season. Wynn holds a 4-0-0 record, while Parker holds a 2-3-0 record. IIT is coached by 10 year head coach Jim Lipocky and they will travel to Lawrence Tech this Wednesday before taking on the Golden Eagles on Friday night. All-time, CU is 22-12-1 vs. Indiana Tech most recently earning a 2-0 win in 2016.

Statistical Balance
Cornerstone continues to show balance across the stat sheet, as nine players have scored so far this season. In 2016, CU had a total of ten girls record at least one goal in the entire year. Not only is Cornerstone balanced in 2017, but new faces are finding the net. Of the 14 goals scored on the season, eight of them have come off the foot of a Cornerstone player who had never recorded a goal for the Golden Eagles before 2017. Junior Hannah Sell is the currently leader in goals with three on the year to go along with one assist.

Johnson NAIA Player of the Week
Freshman keeper Mikayla Johnson was named both NAIA Player of the Week and WHAC Defensive Player of the Week on September 25 for a pair of shutout victories over #16 Taylor and Lawrence Tech. Johnson recorded 15 saves combined in the two matches to earn both awards for the first time ever in her short career. Johnson currently sits at 6-3-0 with a .795 save percentage in her 10 games started in net for the Golden Eagles.
