History vs. This Week's Opponents
Cornerstone has had a very short history against their first opponent this week, playing UM-Dearborn just three times as their program is relatively new. CU is 3-0-0 all-time and did not play the Wolverines in 2020 as the UMD opted out of the year due to COVID-19. The Golden Eagles history against Indiana Tech is much richer, as CU is 20-11-2 all-time. The Warriors have improved over the last 10 years, as they have defeated CU five times in the last 10 games. From 2003-09, Cornerstone dominated IIT, going 13-0-0 and allowing a total of just two goals.
Scouting UM-Dearborn
The Wolverines are looking to find their footing after not having a season in 2020 under third year Head Coach Danielle Toney as the team has gone 1-5-1, 0-4-1 WHAC so far this year. UMD has played just seven contests and scored only four goals, while giving up 14 this season. A multitude of players have played a multitude of different positions for UM-Dearborn as they look to find a combination to get their first conference win of 2021.
Scouting Indiana Tech
The Warriors sit at 6-6-0 overall, already with their most wins since the 2018 season as they currently sit seventh in the WHAC standings with a 2-3 conference record. Indiana Tech has been relatively even with all of their opponents this year, scoring 21 goals while allowing 23. Offensively there has been a lot of different goal scoring threats as Lily Rothert, Bailey Elliott, Molly Ames, and AnnaBella Kowalcyzk have combined for 13 of the teams 21 goals this year. In net, the Warriors are very young with a sophomore and freshman sharing time at keeper, as Michaela Bitle has made 54 saves for a .771 save percentage and Karminna Gaytan has made 28 saves for a .800 save percentage.
