YANKTON, S.D. – The NAIA Indoor Nationals ended with two more All-Americans for the Golden Eagles as
Colten Covington and
Ben Hofstra each earned the honor. CU ends the indoor season with six All-Americans, one National Champion, and two top 30 finishes in the country as the women finished 19
th of 66 teams and the men finished 26
th of 60 teams in competition. The season will now switch gears to outdoor, with an announcement of the schedule to come soon on cugoldeneagles.com.
Men's Results
The day began with the 3000m race walk, where senior
Ben Hofstra earned his second NAIA Indoor All-American plaque in the event with a fourth-place finish and time of 13:40.42. Hofstra ran a clean race and received no marks in the event.
Later in the day, freshman
Zach Theeuwes competed in the finals of the 3000m and earned 10
th with a time of 8:52.02. An outstanding finish for the freshman in his first NAIA Nationals experience.
The final event of the day for CU was the 5000m that saw
Colten Covington and
Luke Pohl in action. Covington highlighted the action finishing sixth with a time of 14:46.77 for his first NAIA All-American Honor.
Luke Pohl finished 13
th with a time of 15:09.22 which was not quite good enough for an All-American spot.
