Senior day highlights weekend back-to-back for Softball

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone will continue its season this weekend with a pair of home doubleheaders against conference opponents. The team will host Lawrence Tech on Friday and Cleary on Saturday. The Golden Eagles have a 13-11, 6-8 WHAC record with just eight games to go in the regular season. Senior Day
Cornerstone will recognize seven seniors prior to the doubleheader against Cleary on Saturday:
Aliyah Lemmer, Alicia Ontiveros, Alessa Baldwin-Buchner, Sierra Sanchez, Courtney Ducharme, Gaby Fundora, and Kailin Hurrle. There will also be a ceremony between the games to recognize the seniors from last year's team. 

Cornerstone Notes
Allisen Martz leads the team in the batting average column with a .383 clip. Martz is batting an even .500 (13-for-26) in the month of April. Sierra Sanchez leads the team with 30 hits and 22 RBI this season. The senior needs just ten more hits to surpass 100 career hits. Cornerstone has an even 8-8 record on their home turf this season. The Golden Eagles pitching staff has a combined ERA of 5.28, led by Ashley Loera with a 4.00 clip. 

Lawrence Tech Notes
The Blue Devils have a 12-13, 5-7 WHAC record. They enter the week in eighth place in the WHAC, just one slot behind Cornerstone's current position. Sare Hige leads the team with a .459 batting average thanks to 39 hits this season. The Blue Devils are an even 5-5 in road games this season. Freshmen duo Clover Brandt and Madison Shumaker have split pitching duties this season and have a combined ERA of 4.09.

Cleary Notes
The Cougars are 9-17 overall this season, and an even 4-4 in WHAC play. Cleary sits in sixth place in the WHAC standings, one slot above Cornerstone's current position. As a team, the Cougars are batting just .250 at the plate. Susie Bielecki leads the team with 11 extra base hits and 16 RBI. Nicole Finazzo leads the team in the circle with a 3.59 ERA.
