Thursday Movement
Cornerstone is scheduled to play at Rochester on Thursday, but due to rain in the forecast there is a chance for the games to be moved. Stay tuned to cugoldeneagles.com and @cornerstoneBAS twitter for further updates on the double-header.

Recent Recap
Cornerstone is in the midst of 10 games in a nine day stretch as over the weekend they recorded a much needed split with two of the top teams in the conference in UNOH and Indiana Tech. On Tuesday however, Cornerstone began the start of a six game stretch against the three worst WHAC records and the offense was unable to get going falling in both games, 13-1 and 11-5. The 16-13, 11-7 WHAC Golden Eagles have Rochester and Aquinas left and are just two games out from the second place position in the WHAC that they sat in just a few days ago.

Hurt Putting a Hurt On
Redshirt-sophomore Austin Hurt has been putting a hurt on the baseball recording a season best five HR's in 2021. Hurt is currently tied for the program career lead at 10 with Jared Burton and still has two more seasons of eligibility. Hurt also has managed to record these 10 home runs while dealing with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that has shortened two of his first three season's as a Golden Eagle. As a team, this has been the best offense Cornerstone has seen since the program restart and the team has a total of 15 HR's just seven short of the season record set back in 2016 when the team played 53 total games compared to this seasons 29.

19 Game Hitting Streak
Redshirt-freshman Jordan Wenzel who leads the team with a .419 batting average just saw his 19 game hitting streak snapped, which is the longest in program history after an 0-3 at Cleary on Tuesday. This season, Wenzel has just three games he has not recorded a hit in and more impressively he has still found a way on base at least once in every single game this year. For his career, Wenzel has 79 hits and he has only not tallied a hit in five games. Wenzel has managed to reach base in every single game he has played in his career.

Scouting Rochester
Rochester is returning from a long lay-off of no games, last playing on April 13. They have struggled this season posting a 5-19, 3-9 WHAC record to sit tied for last in conference play. The Warriors biggest flaw has been their defense, averaging 2.4 errors a game. Offensively, Rochester is led by the power of Brandon Williams who is hitting .375 with a team high 22 RBI and four HR's. However, Williams has been one of the teams biggest defensive liabilities with 0.619 errors a game. On the mound, Rochester has just one player with under a 4.00 ERA in John Steward but he has pitched in just 3.2 innings all year.

Scouting Aquinas
Second year Head Coach Chris LaMange is seeing his first WHAC action as a coach this season after many years as a high school coach at East Grand Rapids. LaMange has started to turn around a struggling AQ program and got off to a great start this year, with a 16-10 record to start the year. However, the WHAC has played a toll on the Saints, going 5-12 in their last 17 games to post a 21-22, 4-12 WHAC record. Travis Keys has been the biggest standout for the Saints with a 4-2 record, 2.72 ERA and a conference best 89 striekouts that have included a pair of Saint program record 16 K games. Offensively, AQ has struggled a little bit with a team .260 batting average. Nathan Hughes has been the team leader with a .402 average and team best 25 runs, 45 hits, 27 RBI, and 82 total bases.
