Cornerstone Notes
- After dropping five straight games from March 12 to March 27, the Golden Eagles have won five straight to bring their record to 10-6 overall, and a WHAC leading 5-1 record in conference play.
- Cornerstone has scored 10+ runs in each of their last four games
- Redshirt freshman Jordan Wenzel had a phenomenal week at the plate to earn his first career WHAC Player of the Week batting .600 with 12 hits, eight runs, eight RBI and five stolen bases. For the year Wenzel is hitting an incredible .458 to lead the Golden Eagles in almost every statistical batting category.
- Cornerstone is an impressive 8-2 at De Witt Field this year, including a pair of wins against Lourdes this past Saturday.
Michigan-Dearborn Notes
- Michigan-Dearborn is 2-2 on the young season, with splits against Indiana Tech and Northwestern Ohio, the two teams that were picked to finish 1 and 2 in the conference in the preseason poll.
- Michigan-Dearborn was selected to finish 8th in the WHAC, just one slot above where CU was slated.
- After holding an 8-1 lead after the 7th inning against UNOH on Saturday, the Wolverines coughed up the lead and trailed 9-8 heading into the 9th, but Antonio Carta sealed the game with a two-run walkoff home run to win it 10-9.
- Shaun Hannibal leads the team with a .348 batting average and five RBI.
- John Dyda is the go-to pitcher for the Wolverines this season, as he has surrendered just one earned run in 12 innings of work this season.
Madonna Notes
- Madonna has a team batting average of .237 and is 5-6, 1-1 WHAC this season.
- Adrian Reed leads the team in the hits and RBI columns with 12 and nine, respectively.
- The Crusaders lone conference action resulted in a split with Rochester on March 20. The team has not played since then, marking almost three weeks away from the field by the time they take on Cornerstone on Friday.
- The Madonna pitching staff has a combined ERA of 4.47.
Concordia Notes
- Concordia is 20-11, 6-2 WHAC this season. Their most recent game was a 17-2 beatdown against Rochester this past weekend.
- Calvin Syrjala leads the team at the plate with a .378 batting average, 26 RBI, along with 24 runs.
- The Cardinals are 8-5 in road games this season.
- The Cardinals came in 4th place in the WHAC preseason poll for this season.
