HILLSDALE, Mich. – The Cornerstone duo of Josh DeVries and Braely Herrema returned to Hillsdale for one last chance meet looking to qualify in the decathlon and heptathlon, and DeVries highlighted the action with a score of 6325 to move to 11th in the NAIA and secure a bid to Gulf Shores, Alabama. Cornerstone will see a few more athletes in last chance meets over the next couple days before heading to NAIA Outdoor Nationals the end of May.

Men's Results
DeVries began the decathlon strong with a PR in the 100m to open day one with a time of 11.07 that earned him an early 845 points. The mark was also good for sixth in CU program history.

Event two was much of the same with an outdoor PR in the long jump for DeVries at 6.10m to collect 608 points and bring his total to 1453.

Once again, DeVries PR'd in his third event with a 9.93m throw in the shot put for 481 points.

In the fourth event of the high jump, DeVries clocked his fourth straight PR with a mark of 1.88m for 696 points. With one event remaining in day one, he sat at 2630 points.

Day one ended with a 50.76 time in the 400m for 780 points. This gave him a day one total of 3410 which put him right on pace to qualify for NAIA Nationals.

Day two opened with DeVries fifth PR, with a 17.05 in the 100m hurdles to earn 619 more points.

Fatigue started to set in for the next three events for DeVries as the discus, pole vault, and javelin set him back slightly.

DeVries ended the decathlon with a bang however setting a massive PR in the 1500 with a time of 4:41.15 to earn 673 points for a total of 6325, putting him at 11th in the NAIA. With the top 16 qualifying for NAIA Outdoor Nationals this all but secures DeVries bid and it also moves him to second all-time on CU's outdoor list.

Women's Results
Braely Herrema competed in the heptathlon at Hillsdale, looking to sneak into NAIA Outdoor Nationals qualifications but would come up short with a score of 3845. This would be short of a PR and wrap up her freshman multi's campaign at Cornerstone.
