Returning Standout: Austin Hurt

After leading the team in a hitting average of .411 and winning a WHAC Golden Glove award last season, Austin Hurt returns as a Redshirt Junior for his third season as a Golden Eagle. The First Team All-WHAC player looks to make a large impact during the Russ Matt Invitational.

Newcomers to the Roster

The Golden Eagles are excited to bring along five freshman to the Russ Matt Invitational in Florida: Brody Nelson (Concord, N.C.), Lucas Vega (Cidra, Puerto Rico), Alex Hayward (Clarkston, Mich.), Cam VanPutten (Grand Rapids, Mich.), and Josiah Stairs (Cambridge, Ontario). It will be a tough 16 days as these freshman learn how college baseball works, facing off against four NAIA nationally ranked teams during the Invitational tournament.

Four of the 14 teams are ranked nationally within the top 25 schools in the NAIA. Cornerstone will face off against 25th ranked Point Park University (Pa.) Pioneers on Feb. 28th, while on Mar. 1 the Golden Eagles will have a double-header against ranked third in the NAIA, Southeastern University (Fla.) Cornerstone will look to make a name for themselves as they face off against these tough teams.
