FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Cornerstone traveled to Fort Wayne for a last-minute rare Monday event and battled weather, a late night, and a long day on the track seeing two NAIA automatic standards on the day. Ben Hofstra secured his 5000m race walk automatic qualifier, while Ashley Verplank continued to dominate in the pole vault with another "A" standard that did not improve on her school record set last week. The Golden Eagles will continue action scattered all around throughout the week with the next scheduled event being locally at Calvin University for the Calvin Spring Thing where events will begin at 3 p.m.

Men's Results:
After a delay pushed the meet well behind schedule, Ben Hofstra highlighted the men's action with an NAIA "A" Standard in the 5000m race walk. He finished with a time of 24:00.56 which earned second of the four competitors.

In the men's 200m, David Dwumfour-Poku had a strong showing finishing fifth with a time of 22.17 falling just short of his lifetime PR.

Women's Results:
Women's action began with a PR from Braely Herrema in the javelin with a throw of 31.16m. This mark put her ninth in the event and moved her to 10th all-time on CU's outdoor list.

Morgan Vargo brought her outstanding indoor season to the outdoor track with a debut of 5.56m in the long jump to finish sixth all-time in CU history and fourth in the event.

A third field PR came from Jenna Breuker with a shot put of 12.07m to move to sixth all-time. Breuker was in a very tough field of throwers and earned 12th at the Indiana Tech event.

Ashley Verplank may not have improved on her school record, but she once again hit the NAIA "A" standard with a mark of 3.65m in the pole vault to finish third overall.
