GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Junior Ashley Verplank earned NAIA Field Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in her career and first time in CU history since Brittany Murray in 2015 after her record-breaking performance in the pole vault at the Calvin Spring Thing. Verplank vaulted a program best 3.85m to break an 11-year-old school record that she tied the week before. The mark is the second highest in the NAIA so far this season and a clear automatic standard for NAIA Outdoor Nationals in Gulf Shores, Alabama. 
 
Cornerstone will compete locally this weekend as they head to Grand Valley on Friday and Saturday for the Al Owens Classic.
