Dominant Defense
Cornerstone sits at 5-2-1 on the year, and although they have had a much better offensive attack this season, they have seen their success come on the defensive end. Freshman keeper
Morgan Scholten has three individual shutouts this season and a combined shutout, while senior keeper
Kelly Leep has a shutout of her own. Scholten last week was named the WHAC Defender of the Week for her 180 minutes without allowing a goal vs. Siena Heights and Cleary. CU's five shutouts this season ranks them 25
th in the NAIA and tied for third in the WHAC.
Scouting UM-Dearborn
The Wolverines have had a very up and down season, losing their first two, winning their next four, and then losing their last three. Close games are not in UM-D's forte at all, but one game has been decided by one or more goal. In the four-game winning streak, the Wolverines scored 28 goals without allowing a goal, however since WHAC play has begun they have been outscored 13-0. Junior Emmi Pinkowski has been the Wolverines leading offensive player with a team high six goals and four assists.
Scouting Indiana Tech
The Warriors have struggled this season as well, going 2-6-1 overall and 0-2-1 in WHAC play. Indiana Tech has been unable to find any offense this season scoring just five goals in nine games while being shutout in six contests. The defense overall has been strong, led by senor goalkeeper Michaela Bitle who has a .793 save percentage in over 700 minutes played. Of the five IIT goals scored, only three players have scored this season.
