GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. –
Phoenix Velthouse highlighted day two of the Davenport Tune-Up with another freshman record performance, going 15 flat in the 110m hurdles. CU continued to battle rain throughout the event as they prepare for the WHAC Championships in Adrian on May 4-5.
Men's Results
On Friday night a mark that was missed was freshman
Ryan Shinabery who went 45.41m in the hammer throw for a new personal best. The mark keeps him ninth all-time on CU's outdoor list.
On Saturday, the 110m hurdle crew got the action started as
Carter Sabin jumped to number two all-time with a new PR of 14.97.
Phoenix Velthouse broke another freshman record as well in the same event with 15 seconds even.
Phoenix Velthouse continued his outstanding day with a PR in the 400m hurdles of 55.31. He moves to eighth all-time in program history to add to his top 10 performances as a freshman.
Some sprinters saw some highlights as well just before the rain started to hit as
Seth Stoltz ran a mark of 10.89 to move to third all-time in program history in the 100m.
Jadyn Courtney went 11.03 in the same event to move to sixth all-time in program history.
Seth Stoltz added another PR and top 10 performance in the 200m with a time of 22.02 to move to fifth all-time.
Ryan Shinabery ended the night with a new PR in the shot put of 14.06m to move to fifth all-time on the outdoor list.
Women's Results
The women's highlights started with a pair of PRs from
Faith Kurtz and
Chelsee Martino in the 400m hurdles. Kurtz mark of 1:06.61 put her just outside the top 10 all-time.
Emily Tummell and
Ava Muir had strong PR's in the shot put to end the night for the women with a 10.40m and 10.12 respectively.
