GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – As Cornerstone enters year 10 of having a sideline cheer program, Director of Athletics Aaron Sagraves is excited to announce the university approval to move to a competitive program starting in 2024-25.
"I am looking forward to making this move that will give us our 20
th competitive varsity sport," said Aaron Sagraves. "We look to continue to support this program as it grows in our state and around the country. The WHAC has some of the best programs for our young women to compete against and I am eager to see growth on and off the playing surface."
Cornerstone will compete in local and state events as well as the WHAC Championships, with the end goal being to earn a qualification for the NAIA National Championships that take place the end of March each season. Over the next year, Cornerstone will be looking to grow the roster of scholarship athletes in preparation for 2024-25.
