GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone went into their final regular season games knowing that they needed to sweep and get some help in order to make the WHAC tournament. Unfortunately they lost both games of the double header to Concordia so their season comes to an end with a 17-17 overall record.
Game Flow
Game 1 – Cornerstone went down 1-0 in the bottom of the 1st inning but Rachel Bode and Hailey Castillo both had singles which led to the tying run (1-1) in the top of the 3rd inning. The Cardinals reclaimed the lead with three runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning to go up 4-1 and the Golden Eagles left four runners on base through the remainder of the game and ended with a 4-1 loss
Game 2 – Corinna Retondo had the Golden Eagles number in the second game of the double header allowing only one hit. The Cardinals scored two runs in each of the first two innings and three runs in the 4th inning and defeated Cornerstone 7-0.
