ADRIAN, Mich. – After seeing two big innings from Davenport send Cornerstone to a defeat in their conference tournament opener, the Golden Eagles fell victim to another big frame from Aquinas as they saw their 2015 campaign come to a close with a 9-2 loss to the Saints. AQ plated six un-earned runs in the sixth inning to conclude the Cornerstone season with a 26-31 overall record.

Game Flow
Cornerstone, which has not outscored its opponents 31-26 in the opening inning this season, scored the first run of the game when Jonny Abbadusky (SO/Elverson, Pa.) walked, advanced to second on a sac bunt, stole third and then came home on a wild pitch.

That score held up until the bottom of the 6th inning when Aquinas scored six times, all with two outs and with each run coming across unearned. CU committed two errors in the inning and handed the Saints all the momentum with starter Luke Heller (SR/Whitewater, Wisc.) being lifted in the frame.

Aquinas added three more in the seventh inning and Cornerstone never made a serious threat down the stretch as they left six runners on base throughout the contest.
