GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone fell behind early to Spring Arbor but used four unanswered runs to close out each of the final three inning to come back and defeat Spring Arbor 7-5. The win lifts the Golden Eagles to 6-13 on the season as they will open WHAC play on Friday with a Noon doubleheader against Madonna University.

Game Flow

The back and forth affair continued when the Cougars regained a 5-3 lead in the top of the sixth but it was all CU after that.

The big hit came in the seventh when Levi Martin (FR/Vicenza, Italy) hit a 2-out solo homerun to tie the game at seven and then CU took the lead for good in the bottom of the eighth on a pair of bases loaded walks from Jon Stewart (SO/Rockford, Mich.) and Corsten. Clay Keltner (FR/Highland, Ind.) picked up the win on the mound as he finished with 4.0 IP while allowing just two hits and striking out four.
