ADRIAN - Mich. – Cornerstone rallied in the ninth inning of game one to win 12-9 while the host Saints scored a pair of runs in the final two frames to steal a split. The split leaves the Golden Eagles at 15-20 overall and 9-7 in the WHAC as they will resume play on Wednesday with a home DH against Davenport University.

Game Flow

Game 1 – Cornerstone got hot early and often with the bats as they scored three runs in the fourth, one in the fifth and four in the sixth to open an 8-0 lead. Brady Volmering (SO/Harbor Beach, Mich.) had a pair of RBI singles over two innings while Aaron Krupansky (FR/Hartland, Mich.) had a 2-run triple in the fourth.

That lead held up until the Saints mounted a gigantic comeback as they scored one in the sixth, six in the seventh and then took the lead with two more in the eighth. The Golden Eagles, now trailing 9-8, mounted a big comeback of their own as they rallied for four runs in the ninth inning as Volmering had a third RBI while CU also got RBI's from Adam Harvey (SO/Antioch, Ill.) and Joe Corsten (FR/Howell, Mich.) to complete the win 12-9

Game 2 – Siena Heights struck first in the nightcap on CU starter Kyle Marburger (SR/Peru, Ind.) but the Golden Eagles responded behind the hot bat of freshman Aaron Krupansky who doubled home Sean Masiakiewicz (SO/St. Louis, Mo.) and Brady Volmering to put CU on top 2-1.

After Siena tied it up at 2-2 in the fourth, Krupansky's big day continued as the freshman doubled home Jacob Klemme (SR/Plymouth, Wis.) in the sixth inning but the Saints had the last answer in the back and fourth affair as they scored one run in each of the sixth and seventh innings to post the 4-3 win.
