SYLVANIA, Ohio.. – The Golden Eagles started off well in today's elimination game with Lourdes scoring a run in the first inning but then the bats went silent and Lourdes defeated Cornerstone 2-1 to eliminate Cornerstone from the WHAC Tournament.
Game Flow – The Golden Eagles got on the board early today at the WHAC Tournament. Annie Fila singled and advanced to second on a Mackenzie Vallad walk. Elizabeth Albaugh stepped up and hit a single through the left side of the infield to bring Fila home to give Cornerstone a 1-0 lead after the first inning of play. Lourdes responded with two runs in the top of the second inning to go up 2-1. The Golden Eagles were held to just one hit after that and the Gray Wolves eliminated Cornerstone from the tournament with a 2-1 victory.
