Scouting Indiana Tech
The Warriors began the season ranked 22nd in the NAIA preseason top 25 poll, but a stretch of five consecutive losses moved them out of the top 25 in the first poll of the spring. On the year, Indiana Tech is 11-11, while holding a 7-2 WHAC record. At the plate Glen McClain has been in a zone, hitting .421 on the year with a team best 24 hits. Tighe Koering has been inconsistent in his batting average hitting just .269, but leads the Warriors with 20 RBI and two home runs. On the mound, Nate Mcbroom and Jason Sterrett have combined to pitch 77 innings for Indiana Tech, each having an ERA under four. Sterrett also holds a Warrior high 31 K's as a starter this season.

History vs. the Warriors
Cornerstone has struggled against Indiana Tech since the program restarted in 2013, holding a 4-12 record. Last season, CU and IIT met just two times and Cornerstone fell 10-1 and 5-2 at De Witt Field. Last time the Golden Eagles defeated the Warriors came on April 1, 2016 when they won a pair of one run games 5-4 and 3-2. Cornerstone will be playing in Fort Wayne for the first time since 2015 when they travel there this weekend.

Leading after six
The Golden Eagles have been dominant this season late in games, holding an 11-1 record when leading after six innings of play. On the other side, Cornerstone is 0-7 in games when trailing after six innings of play. CU has outscored their opponents 25-14 in the sixth inning of play this season.

Hitting Triples
Cornerstone currently ranks 11th in the NAIA in total triples hitting 10 in their first 22 games. Gabe Zeiger is leading the Golden Eagles with three triples this season, while Jarod Burton and Jon Stewart have each recorded two. 10 triples is tied for third in the WHAC as well, as Lawrence Tech currently leads the conference with 13 on the year.

Balance
The Golden Eagles have had great balance at the plate so far this season with five CU starters hitting above .300 this season. Cornerstone has also had balance on the mound, as seven different CU pitchers have tallied a win so far this year.

Big Week
Three Golden Eagles had solid weeks at the plate in Florida. Jarod Burton found his niche in the designated hitter role, improving his average by .121 points by recording 12 hits in Florida. Senior Jon Stewart was hot at the start of the week, taking control of the team lead in RBI with 16 on the season, including four in a win against Mount Vernon. Brady Eeles also had a great week, improving his team best runs scored number to 21 on the season, scoring nine runs in 11 games in over spring break.

Career Firsts
Three Golden Eagles recorded career firsts while in Florida this past week. Senior Kyle Herrick recorded a career first, coming out of the bullpen to tally a save against Trinity Christian College. Nick Hill and Brady Eeles also had career firsts, each tallying their first ever start on the mound. Eeles and Hill each recorded a win over Trinity Christian College in their first ever start allowing just three earned runs combined in those appearances.

Reed's Rubber Arm
Senior Noah Reed has served in a multitude of roles on the mound for the Golden Eagles this season, pitching five times in eight days. Reed began the week with a start and win against Mount Vernon Nazarene. Reed then came out of the bullpen three times in four days, recording saves in two of those games. The week then ended for Reed with another start in a conference matchup against Concordia where he struggled and only went 2.1 innings while giving up four earned runs. Reed completed the week with a 1-1 record to go along with two saves to move his team high innings pitched total to 34.2 on the year.
