Baseball to host Siena Heights for Friday double-header

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles are set to conclude a busy stretch of baseball with a home WHAC double-header against Siena Heights on Friday afternoon. CU will take on the Saints at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. for a pair of games before getting Saturday off of game action. Both games will have live video, audio, and stats available at cugoldeneagles.com.

Cornerstone Baseball Quick Facts:
- The Golden Eagles have a case of the splits, splitting three conference series last week against Lawrence Tech, Aquinas, and Rochester. CU also played a single nine-inning non-conference game vs. Hope College and fell in that game 4-2. Cornerstone is now 13-19, 6-6 WHAC as they sit tied for seventh place in the conference standings with Lourdes. CU is two games back of sixth place SHU. 
 
- Collin Young ended the quite the impressive streak last week, concluding a 23.1 inning stretch where he did not give up a run to an opponent. Young is 3-0 in WHAC starts with an ERA of 1.29. Overall, Young holds a 4-2 record with a team best 2.25 ERA. Young also ranks seventh in the NAIA with just 11 runs allowed this season.
 
- Dan Sewak has taken over the first base position hitting .316 in five starts for CU.
 
- Siena Heights has been hot of late, winning four of their last five games to move to 16-14, 6-4 WHAC. The Saints currently sit sixth and final playoff spot if the season were to end today. The Saints have been very successful on the mound this season with a WHAC second best team ERA of 4.19. A trip of SHU starters all hold an ERA under three with Taylor Acquista leading the back with a 2.16 ERA in 25.0 innings.
