Galloway's continued success
Senior
Christian Galloway continues to add to his sensational story returning from a cancer diagnosis last season to lead the Golden Eagles in goals and assists. Galloway scored the overtime game winner for his second game winning goal of the year to bring his total to five goals and three assists on the year. Cornerstone has struggled to find the net in recent years, as Galloway is now the first player to score more than four goals since 2016, when Kevin Doornbos scored seven.
Winning in Adrian
Cornerstone and Siena Heights have had one of the most even history's, as according to the recordable records, CU is 23-25-9 all-time against the Saints. CU has struggled in matches in Adrian however, as both teams have held homefield advantage well, not winning at Siena Heights since 2012. Last year, Cornerstone earned a 1-0 home victory vs. the Saints in one of the few games they played in the fall.
Herrema nearing Yellow Card limit
Cornerstone freshman
Jeff Herrema has been a great physical presence up front for the Golden Eagles this season, but the physicality comes with the goods and bad's as he sits at four yellow cards on the year. One more card puts him at five, which results in a one game suspension per NAIA rules.
Cleary Cancelation
Cornerstone was scheduled for one more road game this Saturday at Cleary, but do to injury, COVID-19 issues, and lack of players, the Cougars were forced to cancel their season. Cleary missing the season leaves 11 teams the WHAC for the remainder of the 2021 season.
Scouting Siena Heights
The Saints got off to a great start to begin the year, winning three of their first four games in the non-conference season. Since the beginning of the WHAC season however, Siena Heights has struggled, going 0-4-2 in conference play. The Saints are a relatively young program that has played a lot of teams very tough, tying 1-1 to Madonna and with UM-Dearborn. However, they have had issues against teams they should have beaten, falling 3-2 to Rochester and 4-0 to Lawrence Tech. Senior Gustavo Barros currently leads SHU with four goals and two assists for a total of 10 points. Siena Heights has had eight players score this year.
