GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Second year Head Coach Kelsey Kooistra and the Cornerstone softball program is getting set for the 2022 campaign as the full regular season schedule has been announced. The Golden Eagles come of a 17-17 record in a shortened 2021 year as they finished fifth in the WHAC Standings before falling to Concordia and UM-Dearborn in the first two games of the WHAC Tournament. 



Cornerstone will open the season earlier than they ever have in the program's history with an indoor game at Trinity Christian in an indoor facility on February 17. CU will then return to Florida for the NTC Spring Games for the first time since 2020 where they played 13 games before COVID-19 shut down all athletic activity. The opponents for the NTC Spring Games are yet to be announced with games to be played throughout March 5-12. 

CU's first home action will come on March 16 vs. Aquinas for a non-conference double-header against the cross-town rival. The team will then hit the road for 12 straight before returning home for the WHAC home opener vs. Lourdes on April 1. The end of the year is heavily loaded with games at CU Softball Field, all concluding with senior day on Friday, April 29 vs. IU-South Bend. 

If Cornerstone qualifies within the top eight teams in the WHAC they will return to Sylvania, Ohio to compete in the WHAC Tournament that is scheduled for May 5-7 this year.
