GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference has released the preseason poll for the 2026 softball season, and the Golden Eagles have been selected to finish fourth in the conference, earning 83 points. Madonna is tabbed to finish first as they received 121 points and 11 first place votes coming off a WHAC regular season championship with Indiana Tech in second with 105 points while UNOH rounds out the top three with 100 points.

Cornerstone finished second in the conference last year with an overall record of 35-16 (18-6) where they went on to lose to UNOH and Madonna in the WHAC Tournament. The Golden Eagles earned a bid to the NAIA National Tournament losing to #3 Cumberlands (Ky.) and #RV Mobile (Ala.).
Softball opens their season on Thursday, February 12th against Saint Francis (Ill.) at 2 p.m. in Rosemont, Ill.
