Baseball Drops their First Doubleheader of the 2026 Season

Davenport, Fla. – Baseball opened their season dropping both games of the doubleheader to the University of Fort Lauderdale. The Goldens had a 5-1 lead in the first game which was due to a grand slam off the bat of Thomas Rupp, however they were unable to maintain the lead to the end and fell in their first game of the season. Game two was a much different story as CU was in the whole early in the game but a late comeback effort in the seventh sparked by a three-run homer by Broedy Dunham, fell just shy as they lost game two. The Golden Eagles continue play in the RussMatt Tournament on Saturday, February 28th as they take on New College of Florida and Calumet College of Saint Joseph.
