Fort Wayne, Ind. – Softball began the day against the Warriors hot in the top of the first inning. Rylee Stephenson hit the homerun that brought in Anna Griffioen to put Cornerstone up 2-0. The Warriors fought back in game one of the day, and saw themselves to a 5-2 victory over the Golden Eagles. The second of the doubleheader saw Cornerstone take the lead in the top of the sixth inning, but the Warriors battled back and scored three runs to finish out the home sweep over the Golden Eagles 6-4 in game two of the day.
Softball hosts Rochester Christian on April 1, for a WHAC doubleheader day against the Warriors. The first game of the day will begin at 3 p.m.
Game One Recap: Cornerstone – 2 Indiana Tech – 5

Cornerstone started off hot in the top of the fifth inning, as Rylee Stephenson hit the homer to bring both her and Anna Griffioen home. Cornerstone led 2-0 for the next three innings of play.

Indiana Tech got three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, after a double was lined down the leftfield line to score the third run for the Warriors.

Cornerstone was unable to get any more runs on the board, as two more runs by the Warriors sealed the game one win for Indiana Tech 5-2 over the Golden Eagles.
Game Two Recap: Cornerstone – 4 Indiana Tech – 6

Indiana Tech began game two with fire, as they opened up the bottom of the first inning with two runs that gave them the lead 2-0.

The Warriors added a third run in the bottom of the fourth that extended their lead 3-0.

Cornerstone got one on the board thanks to a double by Morgan Jenksins that sent Gabby Mecca home for the Golden Eagles. Cornerstone trailed 3-1.

Cornerstone took the lead in the top of the sixth inning after Andriana Sackett singled up the middle which sent Rylee Stphenson home. Kaylee Misialek followed it up with her own single that sent both Adriana Sackett and Taylor Zwagerman to home plate. Cornerstone led 4-3.

The Warriors fought back in the bottom of the sixth and kept Cornerstone quiet in the top of the seventh, which saw Indiana Tech take game two 6-4 over Cornerstone.
By the Numbers:
2/1 – Two RBI's for Rylee Stephenson off of her homerun in game one versus Indiana Tech, saw her lead the offense for the Golden Eagles at the beginning of the day. Additionally, she added a run to the board in game two for Cornerstone.
2/2 – Kaylee Misialek had two RBI's in game two of the day off of two hits at bat.
7 – Kara Sandberg knocked out seven batters in game two of the day with seven strikeouts, but allowed four earned runs in just five innings of play.
