Melbourne, Fla. – Softball continued in the warm weather and went 0-2 on the day. The Golden Eagles dropped the first game of the day to Clarke University in a game where Cornerstone hit eight times, but were unable to get any runs on the board. They fell to the Pride 4-0. Cornerstone continued in the evening with a NAIA Top 15 matchup against #14 Keiser University. The Seahawks held the Golden Eagles to just four hits and wrapped up the game in the sixth inning 8-0 over Cornerstone. The Golden Eagles continue their spring break action with games on Tuesday against Montreat College and Nelson University at 12:15 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. respectively.

The first two innings were quiet for both teams, with no hits on either side of the innings. Grace Paling got her first strikeout of the day to help close out the bottom of the first.

The bottom of the third saw Clark get the first hit of the game. With a play on second, the Pride got the RBI to clock the first run of the game and went up 1-0.

Sam Timmer singled in the top of the fourth but would not advance as Maddi Miller lined out the close out the top of the fourth for Cornerstone.

Three hits by the Golden Eagles in the fifth never saw their way home. Alexis Ashbay stole second but a ground out took away the opportunity to score away from Cornerstone.

The bottom of the fifth saw the second run scored by Clarke University, as Grace Pauling got another strikeout by swinging to finish the inning for Cornerstone down by two.

Two more hits in the top of the sixth by Cornerstone saw Rylee Stephenson and Anna Griffioen on first and second base. The strikeout would leave the base runners on at the end of the sixth.

Clarke University scored the final two runs of the game in the bottom of the sixth and held Cornerstone to no hits in the top of the seventh and completed the win over the Golden Eagles 4-0.

Cornerstone's Kara Sandberg began the game with a clean top of the first with two strikeouts and just one hit.

One hit by the Golden Eagles came in the bottom of the first by Taylor Zwagerman, which helped Sam Timmer advance to second. The Golden Eagles were unable to get on the board after the first inning.

Kara Sandberg tallied another strikeout in the top of the second and allowed just two hits in the inning. Cornerstone was kept quiet for the next three innings, as well as the Seahawks. Cornerstone was able to hold Keiser to zero hits until the top of the fifth inning.

Three Seahawks got on base to start the top of the fifth. Keiser hit a homerun for a grand slam play to get four runs on the board nearing the end of the contest. #14 Keiser led 4-0. Three more runs by Keiser came in the top of the fifth before Cornerstone were able to wrap it up with two fly outs.

Alexis Ashbay began the bottom of the fifth with a double but two flies out and a foul out from Cornerstone left Ashbay on base at the end of the fifth inning.

The last run of the game came in the top of the sixth inning for the Seahawks to go up 8-0 over Cornerstone.

The bottom of the sixth was quiet for Cornerstone with no hits allowed by Keiser. Cornerstone would go 0-2 on the day with the final loss coming from #14 Keiser University 8-0.

3 – Kara Sandberg and Grace Paling both recorded three strikeouts each in their respective games.
12 – 12 Hits for the Golden Eagles on the day with three hits by Dylan Holmes for the highest on the team.
