Scouting UNOH
The Racers of Northwestern Ohio are the only conference team that Cornerstone has not seen so far this year, and the veteran UNOH roster has struggled going 7-11, 5-5 WHAC so far. Northwestern Ohio is known for their defensive, as they have totaled an NAIA 16th best 66 blocks so far this year led by 6-1 junior center Shatisha Dukes who has 28 through 18 games. The offensive side is where UNOH has seen most of their problems as they average 60.17 points per game, which is the third lowest mark in the WHAC. The leading scorer for the Racers is senior Sogona Sidibe at 11.2 PPG to go along with a team high 6.3 RPG.

Katie Mattera has posted a 6-3 record vs. the Racers, winning five of the last six games. The only three losses the Golden Eagles have suffered in this matchup under Coach Mattera all came in Lima, Ohio. Most recently CU fell 71-60 last February on the road in Racer Gymnasium.

Scouting Concordia
The Cardinals have been dominant so far this season posting a 13-4, 7-4 WHAC record. Last time out, the Cardinals let one slip on the road as they were upset 60-59 by Aquinas. Concordia is a team that will turn you over and score in bunches as they are top 10 in the nation in turnover margin (8.0), total blocks (71), and total steals (226) this season. Concordia will also gash you from the three point line, as leading scorer Kari Borowiak shoots 45.3% from behind the arc. Borowiak and her partner Mia Long at the other guard position can pass the ball effectively as well, as they both average over four assists per game.
Last Time Out vs. the Cardinals
Cornerstone was handed their worst conference loss of the season by the Cardinals early this year, falling 86-56 in Ann Arbor. CUAA caused 21 turnovers by the Golden Eagles, and did a lot of their offensive work from the free throw line going 23-31. Concordia also went 47.4% (9-19) from behind the arc led by a 4-5 mark from Kari Borowiak.
Pair over 20
Both
Jesse Sheridan and
Lizzy Otten recorded a game high 23 points in the loss to Davenport this past Saturday, becoming the first duo of CU players to score over 20 points in the same game since February 1, 2014. 21 points from Katelyn Cousins and 20 points from Jill Hendrickson in a win against UM-Dearborn was the last time CU saw two players score over 20 points in the same game. Otten's 23 points is also a new collegiate career high.
Sheridan's Assists
Jesse Sheridan is most known for her ability to score for the Golden Eagles, but this past week she managed to record back-to-back six assist games. Sheridan averages 2.4 assists per game this season and six is a new career high for her.
The January Grind
January is known to be a grind of conference games, and CU has done well in January under Coach Mattera going 27-9 in the month over the past four seasons. CU is 1-1 so far this month and has six games remaining in January.
Significance of 40%
A 40% shooting percentage has been significant for the Golden Eagles in determining wins and losses this season. Cornerstone is 7-3 this season when shooting over 40% and just 2-6 when shooting under that mark. On the defensive end, if CU allows the opponent to shoot over 40% they are 0-8, while if the opponent shoots under that percentage they are 9-1.
