Scouting Siena Heights
The very young Siena Heights roster that only features one senior has hit their stride since the last time CU saw them, as they have won their last five games and 12 of their last 13 to post a 16-6, 9-5 WHAC record. The Saints sit alone in third pace in conference play after they started the season 0-4 in the WHAC. The lone senior April Watson leads SHU in multiple statistical categories with 17.9 PPG, 10.0 RPG, and 1.6 BPG this season. Along with that, Watson is shooting at a career high 56.8% mark from the field so far this season.
Last Time vs. The Saints
The Golden Eagles hosted Siena Heights for the first conference game of the season on November 12, 2016 and held on for a narrow win, 59-56. CU shot just 36.7% from the field in the win, but went 6-10 from behind the arc to help earn the victory.

Scouting Madonna
Madonna has been dominant offensively so far this season averaging 76.4 PPG as a team, which is 20th in the nation. The problem for the Crusaders so far this season has been their defense, as they allow 75.2 PPG, which has led to their record of just 10-9, 6-8 WHAC so far this year. MU has played in many close games this year as well, with 12 games being decided by 10 points or less and three of those games going to overtime. The duo of Michele Hayes (19.9 PPG & 5.5 APG) and Becca Sabol (14.2 PPG & 10.9 RPG) has led the Crusaders so far this season.
Last Time vs. The Crusaders
Cornerstone hosted Madonna on December 10, 2016 and won 81-70. The Crusaders were receiving votes at the time giving CU their only win vs. an NAIA top 25/RV team this season. In the win,
Jesse Sheridan recorded a career high 30 points on 10-15 shooting and 4-5 from behind the arc.
Dynamic Trio
The trio of
Jesse Sheridan (17.1 PPG),
Cass Vredevoogd (10.7 PPG), and
Lizzy Otten (10.0 PPG) are carrying the Golden Eagle offense this season as they all average above ten points per game. CU has not had three or more players average over 10 points per game since Melissa Veltkamp (14.0 PPG), Robyn Veltkamp (12.7 PPG), and Brooke Carter (12.5 PPG) did it in the 2010-11 season.
Coach Mattera Nears 100
With last weeks win over Marygrove, head coach
Katie Mattera has reached 90 wins in her CU coaching career. It is unlikely that Mattera will surpass 100 wins this season, but she is on pace to be the second quickest CU coach to reach the mark and the third all-time to do so.
Sheridan's Road to 1,000
Jesse Sheridan added 31 points this week, inching her way closer to becoming the quickest Golden Eagle to reach 1,000 points in school history. Sheridan now just needs 149 points to reach the mark, and she has eight regular season games left to do so.
Otten's Path to 200
Junior
Lizzy Otten needs just 11 assists to reach 200 for her career. Otten leads the Golden Eagles in assists this season with 69 averaging 3.3 per game. Otten recorded 120 of her 189 career assists in her two seasons with conference rival Madonna.
