GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles will continue with a tough portion to the schedule, as they get set to travel to receiving votes Aquinas and host No. 14 Indiana Tech this week. CU will play at rival Aquinas on Tuesday at 7 p.m. then return home for a 1 p.m. game vs. Indiana Tech on Saturday. Links to view each game can be found at cugoldeneagles.com.

Scouting AQ
Aquinas has ridden the success of a pair of Davenport transfers to a 5-3, 2-1 WHAC record so far this season. Michaela Faber (12.1 PPG, 5.5 RPG) and Momo Neal (8.6 PPG, 2.6 APG) have been the main pieces offensively for the Saints this year. AQ prides themselves on their defense, as they hold opponents to just 57.0 PPG to rank top 15 in NAIA Division II. The size of Aquinas has presented opponents a multitude of problems, as four varsity players are taller than 6ft.
Scouting IIT
Indiana Tech has posted a near perfect season so far, going 9-1, 3-0 WHAC with their only loss to No. 1 Marian University. Seniors Haley Cook and Keanna Gary have garnished two of the first three WHAC Player of the Week honors, as they have been key contributors in a dominating start for the Warrirors. Indiana Tech has been incredibly balanced offensively with four players averaging double-digits. As a team, the Warriors are beating opponents by an average of 30.3 points to rank third in NAIA Division II. IIT is also very good defensively, as teams average 52.5 points against them and have tallied a WHAC leading 44 blocks this year.
History vs. Aquinas
Cornerstone has won seven straight vs. rival Aquinas, going 9-1 all-time under head coach
Katie Mattera. Despite winning seven straight, Aquinas has played CU tough with five of those seven games being decided by 10 points or less.
History vs. Indiana Tech
CU has struggled of late against a continually improving IIT team. The Golden Eagles have lost five of their last six and four straight under head coach

Sheridan Nears Top 10
Junior
Jesse Sheridan continues to chip away to reaching the Golden Eagles top 10 scoring list. Sheridan scored 20 against Calvin and 21 vs. Concordia to move her magic number down to just 66 points. Sheridan has tallied 1,202 career points to date and leads Cornerstone in points per game this season at 19.6.
Dominating Percentages
Cornerstone has been absolutely dominant shooting the ball so far this season, already recording three games in which they have shot 50% or better. Currently CU is averaging a 46.8% clip from the field, ranking them sixth in NAIA Division II. In last weeks matchups, the Golden Eagles shot 46.3% against Calvin and 51.5% vs. Concordia. The season high for CU came in their first game at Olivet Nazarene where they shot a program best 64% in an overtime loss.
Nyboer's Career High
Freshman
Shelby Nyboer was dominant in the post the past two games, tallying a career high 18 points vs. Calvin and 17 against Concordia. The Jenison product has been a huge lift off the bench of late, shooting above 65% in each of her last two games. Nyboer is currently fourth on the team in points per game and second on the team in rebounds per game this season.

Katie Mattera now sits just three wins away from 100 career. Mattera is now 97-68 as the head coach of the Golden Eagles, as she looks to become just the third coach in school history to tally 100 career wins.

Cass Vredevoogd stands as the next closest Golden Eagle to reach the 1,000 career point feat. Vredevoogd currently has 909 career points, putting her 91 away from being the 25th Golden Eagle to make the scoring list. Vredevoogd spent two years at Dort College where she scored 497 points before transferring to Cornerstone where she has 412.
