About Grace Bible College
Grace Bible College is a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). So far this season, GBC has posted a 2-1 record with wins vs. Muskegon CC and Ohio University - Lancaster. The Tigers women's basketball program is entering just their seventh year of existence, as they will take on Cornerstone for the first time in school history.

Scouting Siena Heights
Siena Heights comes into the 2017-18 season yet to play a game, as they will take on Spring Arbor on November 7th before hosting Cornerstone in the WHAC opener on November 11. SHU has earned a preseason ranking of 22, as they look to rebuild after graduating WHAC First Team member April Watson and Second Team member Jaaliyah Arrington.

Scouting Davenport
Former WHAC rival Davenport Panthers embark on a new challenge as they begin their first year of competition at the NCAA Division II level in the GLIAC. DU's 2017-18 season will begin this weekend with back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday before taking on CU on Monday. The Panthers pride themselves on rebounding, as they led the NAIA in total offensive rebounds, and were second in defensive rebounds in 2016-17.

History in WHAC Openers
Cornerstone will play the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular season opener at #22 Siena Heights on Saturday afternoon. CU has had success in WHAC openers since the 2000-01 season, going 12-5 all-time in those games. Cornerstone has won each of their last two conference openers, most recently defeating this same Siena Heights program 59-56 in Mol Arena.

Mattera Nearing 100
Head coach Katie Mattera is looking to become just the third coach in Cornerstone women's basketball program history to reach 100 career wins. She currently holds a 93-67 record. Mattera has just begun her sixth season at the helm of the Golden Eagles.

Freshman Output
A pair of Golden Eagle freshman have been key contributors in the early season. Freshman Sydney Muller has started all four games for the Golden Eagles and tallied a team third best 11.8 PPG. Muller has been a great distributer as well, averaging a team best 4.3 APG. Off the bench, freshman Shelby Nyboer has been key in the low post. Nyboer averages 5.5 PPG and 5.0 RPG in just 13.8 MPG.

Four Game Skid
The Golden Eagles have recorded one of the toughest starts in program history, going 0-4 with three of those losses to NAIA Top 25/RV opponents. In Cornerstone's recordable history (2000-01 season), CU has never started a season 0-4. The last time the Golden Eagles lost four straight in a season came in 2011-12, a year before Katie Mattera took over as head coach. The skid in the 2011-12 season saw a pair of losses to Siena Heights, along with losses to NAIA top 10 opponents and WHAC foes No. 5 Concordia and No. 6 Davenport. The longest skid in Cornerstone program history came in 2002-03 when they lost six consecutive games.
