Virtual Senior Day: Jeremy Praski

#CUVirtualSeniorDay – With the cancellation of the remainder of the 2020 spring sports seasons due to COVID-19 concerns, CU Athletics will be honoring the spring seniors who will not get the opportunity to be recognized in the traditional Senior Day setting.

Jeremy has been one of the many success stories who has seen significant improvement over his career as he joined the varsity baseball team as a junior and pitched 5.2 innings in 2019 and a team high 18.0 innings in the shortened 2020 season. He recorded 14 strikeouts in 95 batters faced in his career while tallying four career starts on the mound.

Coach Chuck on Jeremy:

"Jeremy Praski is the epitome of a quiet leader. He has led by example as he worked diligently to better his craft each and every day. His development as a pitcher over the course of his career has been fun to witness, but it pales in comparison to his development as a man, as a leader, and as a teammate. I loved coaching Jeremy and I wish we had 4 or 5 Jeremy Praski's on every team. We will miss his impact on and off the field."

Letter from Jeremy:

Dear baseball,

Words can't describe my sadness knowing I won't be able to lace up my spikes, put on my uniform and go play the game I love. I'll remember all the practices, hot summer and cold spring games. I'll remember the fun times winning and the tough lessons of losing. Most of all I'll remember the joy you've brought me.

I want to thank my family for the sacrifices they've made for me to play baseball, and for the endless love and support they've given me. I want to thank the coaching staff at CU for the opportunity to play baseball at the collegiate level and also teaching me about more than just baseball. I want to thank my teammates for pushing me to be the best I could and making my time playing baseball at CU fun and memorable.

While playing baseball at Cornerstone I've realized that I must work hard for what I want. I've learned what it's like to be part of a team, how to support one another, motivate one another, and how to love one another regardless of what happens on the field.

So, baseball, thank you for being there for me through the ups and downs, for the life lessons you've taught me, for the relationships I've been able to build, and thank you for the memories.
