Last Week Recap
The Golden Eagles played three WHAC games in the last seven days and fell in all three increasing their losing streak to nine. CU continues to struggle shooting the ball, as they were under 35% in all three contests this week. Cornerstone is now 3-18, 1-12 WHAC as they will play another busy week vs. Lawrence Tech, at Rochester, and at UNOH in the next seven days.
Maddison Fulks Back in Action
Maddison Fulks returned to action on Monday at Madonna for the first time since January 12 after injuring her hand. In her return she had nine points in 13 minutes and brought down three boards.
Get to the Line
Cornerstone struggled to score from the field this week, but did a great job getting to the line on Monday against Madonna, hitting a season high 24 free throws in 34 attempts for nearly half their points at the line. CU has scored double-digit free throws in five of the last six games and each of the last three.
WHAC Outlook
With just seven regular season games remaining, Cornerstone sits in last in the WHAC at 1-12 overall. The top of the standings see (17) Indiana Tech leading the way two games up on second place competitor Rochester and Siena Heights.
Scouting Lawrence Tech
Cornerstone has fallen the last two times against Lawrence Tech and gone 1-6 under Head Coach Jessica Yonkers. This season, the Blue Devils sit right around .500 at 12-14, 8-8 WHAC. Similar to their men's program, LTU has struggled of late, winning just two of their last seven contests. Offensively, senior guard Kendall Fisher is the lone player to average double-figures, scoring 16.6 points per game to go along with a team best 6.0 assists per game.
Scouting Rochester
Cornerstone played one of their best games of the year against Rochester despite taking the loss earlier this season, recording a season high in points, field goals made, and field goals attempted. The Warriors are a run and gun type of offense as they average an NAIA 17th best 78.4 PPG at a 42.9% clip. The defending WHAC Champions have just three conference losses and sit tied for second with Siena Heights. Their losses game to WHAC leader Indiana Tech, Concordia, and Siena Heights. Rochester is a veteran team with four players scoring double-figures with three of those four being seniors. Elysia Mattos leads the way with 13.6 PPG so far this year in 21 starts. Mattos also leads the team with 5.8 assists per game as the team averages 15.8.
